Toowoomba Skip Bins in front of house in construction

If you need to dispose of asbestos, Zilch Waste Skip Bins has you covered with bins specifically designed for asbestos disposal in various sizes.  We are licensed to transport asbestos to specific landfill sites that are regulated to take asbestos within the Toowoomba, Darling Downs Region, Western Downs, Laidley, Gatton area.

A licence is required to remove any amount of friable asbestos and if you remove more than 10 square metres of non-friable asbestos.

Approved materials

  • Asbestos materials (e.g., fibro sheeting)
  • Asbestos-contaminated items only

prohibited materials

  • Any non-asbestos waste, rubbish, or other materials

Handling and Removing of Asbestos

wet methods

Wetting asbestos materials reduces airborne fibres during removal. Use water mixed with a small amount of detergent in a low-pressure spray bottle to dampen the material before handling it.

avoid breakage

Do not cut, drill, or break asbestos materials, as this increases the release of fibers. Keep asbestos sheets intact whenever possible.

Minimise Dust

Avoid the use of power tools, compressed air, and high-pressure water sprays to prevent dust generation.

Containment

Place any removed asbestos materials directly into sealed, thick plastic sheeting or labeled asbestos waste bags (minimum 200 microns) immediately upon removal to prevent contamination of the surrounding area.

Safe Disposal Instructions

To comply with Queensland asbestos disposal regulations, all bins hired for asbestos removal must be double-lined with heavy-duty PVC plastic (200 microns or thicker), The bin should be lined with enough plastic to fully enclose the asbestos within the first layer, then sealed tightly with industry-grade tape. Afterward, fold the second layer over and secure it in place for safe and compliant transport to an approved facility.

Please note that if a disposal facility rejects a load due to improper packaging, a reload and transport fee will apply.
